Do you exercise? If yes, that’s great. However, if you sit down for most of the rest of your day, that could be a problem. You need to be active throughout the day, every day. Little bursts of activity, count. If you have a desk job, try taking a short walk every hour to boost your circulation, even if it’s just to the break room and back. Binge-watching your favorite show? Get up and dance, or do push-ups, or even just stretch, during the commercials.

Do you know your numbers? What’s your cholesterol level? What's your blood pressure reading? No clue? That’s risky. They could be too high without you even knowing. (You could feel just fine and have high cholesterol and/or high blood pressure.) Protect yourself. Starting at age 20, try to get your cholesterol checked every 4 to 6 years.
