Here are some reminders on nutrition. Check them out, see which ones you're familiar with, ought to get familiar with or never want to, ha..ha..ha.

  • Brush your teeth after dinner and you’ll be less likely to be tempted to snack before bed.
  • Say no to soda. You know it’s time.
  • Skip the salad dressing. Try lemon juice, lime juice or a drizzle of olive oil as a healthier, alternative.
  • Eat less red meat (which has been linked to a higher risk of colon cancer) and more white meat.
  • Eat an apple a day. Studies have shown that eating apples can help to cut down “bad” cholesterol.
  • Instead of reaching for dessert at night, replace it with fresh fruit.
  • Eat sandwiches open-faced with just one slice of bread instead of two.
  • Add some spice to your life. Spicy foods could help stave off illness, burn fat and reduce inflammation.
  • If you like dark chocolate, eat one SMALL piece every day. Some studies claim this may even help your heart(I know who will be smiling now).

Now is the time to really pay attention. What are you putting in your mouth? Will it help or harm?
